"I'll take famous titties for 400"
Looking over the list of celebs for this go round, there is no obvious champs like Bob Costas or Jon Stewart. As well, there are no complete wastes of space like Ashton Kutcher or Rob Schneider.
This year the celebs are as follows:
- Martin Short (he will be the most entertaining)
- Susan Lucci (apparently, she is still considered a celebrity)
- Curt Schilling (has never met a microphone he didn't like)
- Regis Philbin (my bet as first person to lose this season)
- Rachel Ray (how does she have time with 2 shows on the Food Network, a talk show and a magazine)
- James Denton and Doug Savant (aren't they both on Desperate Housewives?)
- Christopher Meloni (the most intense of the group)
- Drew Lachey (should he not be on brothers-of-a-celebrity Jeopardy)
- Neil Patrick Harris (he did play a boy genius on TV!)
- Jane Kaczmarek (my bet to make it to the finals)
- Joely Fisher (of the about to be cancelled Til Death)
- Dana Delaney (gasp!)
- Mario Cantone (the comic relief)
- Steve Schirripa (no idea who that is)
- Bebe Neuwirth (someone who could possibly win it all)
- Paul Shaffer (seems out of place among this group)
- Sam Waterston (my money is on him to win it all)
- Soledad O'Brien (despite how good she was in the Spike Lee doc about New Orleans, I don't think she is all that bright)
- Isaac Mizrahi (haven't we had enough of him yet)
When one thinks of Celebrity Jeopardy, thoughts must race to Saturday Night Live's version of Celebrity Jeopardy. It was always anchored by Will Farrell as an exasperated Alex Trebek and it always included Darrell Hammond as Sean Connery (the title of this blog entry is a reference to those skits). Here is one of those segments.
Top 5 Non-Bond Sean Connery Movies
1. The Untouchables
2. The Name Of The Rose
3. Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade
4. Outland
5. The Rock
People forget that Canada's own SCTV also had a version of this called Half Wits with Eugene Levy as an exasperated version of Alex Trabek. Also very funny.
